In keeping with the theme of this Irish holiday, the attached photo shows a few items which are actually Christmas pieces but which are suitable for St. Paddy's Day.
The cards are by Raphael Tuck and Sons and were printed around 1890. They show a man and his lucky pigs headed to the market. The small traveling suitcase is a candy container and has a bag, rope and small green felt hat resting on it's top. The large Meerschaum pipe is a Dresden paper candy container. It features a silk drawstring bag in it's belly to hold the candy. The fence is a German feather fence made from goose feathers around 1920.
Enjoy this day and may the luck of the Irish be with you always!
