I have been spending quite a bit of time in the studio these past few weeks preparing for the upcoming Golden Glow Convention happening the end of July in Chicago Illinois. If you aren't familar with this group, please check out my "Friends" links to browse their website. You will be amazed.
At each yearly convention there are numerous opportunities to sell either antique or reproduction Christmas items. The bylaws of the organization state that if an item is old, it needs to date pre-1966. Any new item just needs to be Christmas oriented and have some relationship to Christmas Past.
The photo that I have included with this post is of some of the new spun cotton ornaments I have created for the event. I am selecting some for the convention and will be listing some of them in the shoppe shortly. Each one is such fun to create and is truly borne from either an antique example I have seen or an idea running around in my head.
My favorites of the group are some of the anthropomorphic ones which feature dogs heads on human bodies. These antique Victorian scrap faces are of such wonderful quality and truly imbue each ornament with an unique personality.
I will post some of the antique items I will be offering for sale shortly. Enjoy your day!
